Use the Change something feature to make changes to an AI Image

On the iPhone and iPad version of Photoroom, you can use a prompt to generate an AI Image and then use another prompt to ask for changes. This feature is called "Change something", and when you use it, you get a preview of the existing AI Image and a prompt to describe the changes you want.

To learn how to make changes, see the instructions in the section below.

Note: The Change something feature is currently unavailable on the web app version. If you are using the web app version, create a new AI Image and use a prompt to describe the design you want.

On iPhone and iPad

To change something about an AI Image you have generated on the iPhone and iPad version of Photoroom:

(Video shows Photoroom on iPhone)

  1. On the Create page, select AI Images.

  2. Select the type of AI Image you want to create, for example, Logo Maker. Photoroom will open the prompt editor for that type of AI Image. If you have created this type of image before, it will remember your previous designs.

Note: Photoroom can remember a total of 100 images for all mini-apps combined. The mini-apps are the different types of image you can create from AI Images > "What do you need?" dialog. When that total is reached, it will forget the oldest images to make space for the newest.

  3. To make a change to an existing design:

    1. Select the dotted menu for an existing AI Image

    2. Select Describe a change.

  4. In the prompt field, enter a description of the changes you want to make.

Note: Photoroom is already going to use the same prompt that was used to create the AI Image, so you don't need to include that. You only need to describe the changes you want the AI to make.

For example, in the video, we told the prompt to change the color of the goat hair.

  5. If you like the new AI Image that Photoroom generates, select it.

  6. Select either:

    • Use full image to use the entire image including its background

    • Remove background to only use the foreground image

    • Change something to make further changes.

  7. If you chose to use the full image or only the foreground, Photoroom opens the design in the editor. You can now edit it in the same way as any other design, for example, you could insert graphics or add text.

To learn about editing images, see the editing articles.

  8. Select Export. Use the export settings to save and share your design.

  9. Select Done.
