With Background Remover by Photoroom, you can remove backgrounds from photos in ChatGPT. Just upload your photo in a prompt, confirm access and wait for the Background Remover to do its magic. It will remove the background, show you the new image, and create a link for editing the image in Photoroom's Web App.
Note: The Background Remover is currently only for use with the Web App (desktop) version of Photoroom. It is unavailable on iPhone, iPad, and Android.
On Web App
To remove a background using Photoroom GPT:
Open ChatGPT at chatgpt.com and log in. Create a new ChatGPT account if necessary.
Select Explore GPTs in the sidebar.
Search for "Background remover by Photoroom".
Note: Beware of imposters! The official Photoroom GPT is called Background Remover by Photoroom. There may be unauthorised GPTs using the Photoroom name and logo.
Select the Background Remover by Photoroom GPT.
Select Start Chat.
Either drag your image file into the prompt box or select the plus icon + for the prompt and then browse to your image file.
Note: Free ChatGPT accounts have limits on the number of files you can upload each day. To remove a background from an image, you will need to upload the image to ChatGPT.
Select the Up arrow icon to send the prompt to the GPT.
Select Confirm in the chat to allow the GPT to talk to Photoroom.
The GPT will remove the background from the image and generate a link.
Select the Continue editing here link to open the image in Photoroom at app.photoroom.com.
Choose the workspace you want to work in.
[Optional] Use the editing features of the Web App to make further changes to the design.

[Optional] Select the download icon to download the design as an image file. Enter a file name and choose a file type and then select Download.
Select Home to navigate away from the editor and save your design. You will be able to find your design in Designs.
