Save a background color to your brand kit

Learn how to save a background color to a color palette in your brand kit

Single color background layers have a Save color to Brand kit feature. It lets you add the background color to your brand kit.

Depending on your needs, you can either:

  • Save the color to an existing color palette

  • Get Photoroom to create a new color palette and add the color to it.

Once the color is in a color palette, you and your team will all be able to access the same color quickly from the brand kit.

Note: Save color to Brand kit is currently only available on iPhone, iPad, and Web App versions of Photoroom. It is coming soon to Android.


On iPhone and iPad

To save a background color to your brand kit on the Web App version of Photoroom:

  1. On the Create page, select Content.

  2. Select the workspace you want to work in.

  3. Select the design that contains the background color you want to save.

  4. Select the background layer.

    If you are unable to select the background layer directly on the image, select Layers. Select the background layer from the list.

  5. Select Save color to brand kit.

    Photoroom will either:

    • Create a new color palette in your brand kit and add the color to it.

    • Ask you to choose a color palette to store the new color.

  6. If you are asked to choose a color palette, pick the appropriate color palette option.

Photoroom will add the color to a color palette in your brand kit. To view it, select Brand on the Content page for the workspace. There, you can also give the color palette a name by selecting the dotted menu for the color palette and selecting Rename.


On Web App

To save a background color to your brand kit on the Web App version of Photoroom:

  1. Log in to Photoroom at app.photoroom.com.

  2. Select the workspace that contains the design you want to work on.

  3. Select the design that contains the background color you want to save.

  4. Select the background layer.

    If you are unable to select the background layer directly on the image, select the gray area off-canvas to display the layers in the sidebar. Select the background layer from the list.

  5. Select Save color to brand kit.

  6. Select either:

    • Save to "name of existing color palette"

    • Create new palette.

Photoroom will add the color to a color palette in your brand kit. To view it, select Brand kit on the Designs page for the workspace. There, you can also give the color palette a name by selecting the dotted menu for the color palette and selecting Rename.
