On the Web App, you can position layers with pixel-perfect precision by entering an X-axis and Y-axis value. The X and Y values are available in the Position settings for a layer.

A design shown in the Web App. The object on the design has callout arrows pointing up and down for Y and left and right for X. The X and Y position settings are shown in the side panel.

On Web App

To position a layer using the X and Y coordinates:

  1. Select the workspace that you want to work in.

  2. Select the design you want to edit.

Alternatively, select New design and upload an image. If you remove the background, you will need to select a template too. For details, see Create your first Photoroom design.

  3. Either:

  4. Open the Postion panel in the layer settings.

  5. Enter the X and Y coordinates.

To move a layer left or right, change its X value.

To move a layer up or down, change its Y value.

    When entering coordinates:

    • The left edge of your canvas is 0 on the X-axis.

    • The top edge of your canvas is 0 on the Y-axis.

    • The right edge of your canvas equals the width of the canvas.

    • The bottom edge of your canvas equals the height of the canvas.

    For example, with a portrait canvas (1512 × 2016):

    • Left edge: X = 0

    • Right edge: X = 1512

    • Top edge: Y = 0

    • Bottom edge: Y = 2016

  6. [Optional] Use the editor settings to make further changes to the design, such as add text or graphics.

  7. [Optional] Select Download to download your design as an image file. Enter a name for the file, choose a file type, and then select Download.

  8. Select Home to save your design and exit the editor.

Home icon is a house symbol.
