Photoroom's Batch feature makes editing a collection of images much faster and easier. You can apply templates, and resize and restyle hundreds of images all-at-once!

In this article, we explain how to use Batch on the Web App version of Photoroom, including how to:

  • Apply a template to the images

  • Resize the images

  • Change the position of the images

  • Change the background of the images

  • Add AI-generated shadows

  • Edit some, but not all, of the images in a Batch.

  • Add a logo to a Batch.

You can also use the editor to make changes to each image individually.

Note: To learn how to use Batch on the iOS and Android versions of Photoroom, see: Edit multiple images at once with Batch (iOS and Android).

On Web App

To edit multiple photos using Batch:

  1. Select the Space you want to work in.

  2. Select Batch.

  3. Either:

    • Select Import images and select individual files to upload.

    • Select Import folder and select a folder to upload.

Photoroom will upload all image files in that folder. If the folder contains sub-folders, Photoroom will upload the images from those too.

  4. Select Upload on the notification.

  5. Select the grid icon to view the images in a smaller or larger grid, depending on your preference.

  6. Select the images you want to change. The edits that you make in Batch will only affect the selected images.

    Either:

    • Select an individual image. A blue border appears around the image.

    • Select multiple images by pressing Ctrl or Cmd and then selecting the images. You can also draw a box over the images.

    • Leave all images unselected to include them all in your edit.

For more detailed instructions, see Select images in Batch (Web App).

  7. Use Templates to apply a template to the selected images. Choose from the Photoroom templates or your own custom templates.

  8. Use Resize to change the size of the selected images. Choose from the list of available sizes.

  9. Use Position to change the position of the main object. Choose from the available options or select Custom to set your own positioning.

For positions with Padding options, use the scale to increase or decrease the amount of space on each side. If you increase the padding, Photoroom will reduce the size of the object to fit.

  10. Use Background to choose a background for the selected images.
    This is where you can:

    • Restore the original backgrounds of the images by turning Remove original backgrounds off. Turn it back on to remove the backgrounds.

    • Select a color from your brand colors or the color palette.

    • Select an AI-generated background.

There are options for choosing the AI model (studio, v3, v2), creating an AI background from a description, or choosing from the list of themes.

  11. Use AI Shadows to apply a shadow effect to the main object in the selected images. Choose the type of shadow you want from the list.

  12. Use Upload to add extra images to your batch.

  13. To edit an individual image:

    1. Select it's context menu ( ... ) and then select Edit. Photoroom opens the image in the editor.

    2. Use the settings to add graphics, text, logos, and apply other features.

    3. When you have finished editing, select < Batch to save and exit.

    4. Select Apply changes to apply the changes to all images in the batch. If you only want the changes to apply to the currently selected image, select X or wait for the dialog to close.

Note: You can only apply the changes to one selected image or all images in the batch.

  14. When you have finished editing, select Download images.

    1. Enter a name for the folder.

    2. Choose the format (AUTO, PNG, JPEG, WEBP).

If you select AUTO, Photoroom will choose the most appropriate format, based on the content of your images.

  15. Select Download. Your images download in the browser as a zipped file.

  16. Select Home to exit Batch.

Note: Batch is designed for exporting images. It does not save the images as designs in Photoroom. If you need them as designs, import them individually as new images.
