We are constantly changing the app. Most updates add value — new features, better results, faster tools. Over the past few months, we released new tools to generate AI Models, Ghost Mannequins, AI videos... We also improved our AI Backgrounds model to provide more realistic, faster results.

This time, we’re introducing limits to keep pace with the growing cost of advanced AI models while continuing to make new features available to all users, including existing subscribers.
We could have excluded older subscribers from new AI tools, but that would hold everyone back. Instead, we’re ensuring every subscriber gets access to the latest innovations, and this requires to introduce some changes in usage limits.
Note that generation limits have been introduced in September already. Only the top ~10% of users — those generating very high volumes — will ever reach these new limits.

When Photoroom started, we had two simple plans: Free and Pro — with unlimited use of all tools.
Since then, we’ve launched groundbreaking AI features like AI Model, Ghost Mannequin, and Video Generation — tools that radically transform how sellers work and replace workflows that used to cost hundreds or thousands of dollars.
These innovations come with higher AI costs, which makes an unlimited model unsustainable.
That’s why we’re introducing usage limits and new plans — so we can keep building the best AI tools and make them available to everyone.

The value of Batch Mode is automation — it saves hours of manual work by letting you process and export photos automatically. It’s a tool built to help sellers scale their workflow effortlessly.

Some users now process hundreds or even tens of thousands of images each month, saving enormous amounts of time and creating real business value through automation.

To keep things fair and sustainable, those who use Batch the most — and benefit from it the most — contribute more through higher plans.

That’s why we’re introducing generous but reasonable limits:

Only heavy Batch users will ever reach these limits, while the vast majority of creators won’t see any change.
This helps us keep investing in better automation, faster exports, and new capabilities for everyone.

Any feature that uses AI to generate something. It includes AI Backgrounds, AI Shadows, Virtual Model, etc...

Background removals, white backgrounds, templates are excluded.

Batch exports and AI credits are two separate limits.
If you’re simply using Batch Mode to remove backgrounds or edit manually, you’ll only be limited by your Batch export quota.
If you use AI-powered tools inside Batch — like AI Backgrounds, Virtual Model, or Ghost Mannequin — those actions will also use your AI credits, since they rely on generative AI models.

This separation keeps things transparent: you only use AI credits when you’re actually generating new content with AI.
