When you have a Batch of images, you can apply a background to them all at once to save time and effort. On the Web App, there are several ways to add backgrounds, depending on what you want.
You can:
Keep the original background of the Batch images
Use a color for the background
Use an image for the background:
Upload your own image
Choose an image from a collection in Photoroom
Search for an image on Unsplash or Pixabay
Generate an AI Background based on a text description (prompt) or an image to "inspire" the AI.

Keep the original background of the Batch images
To keep the original background of Batch images on the Web App:
Log in at app.photoroom.com.
Select the Space you want to work in.
Select Batch.
Upload images to your Batch:
Use Import images to select individual image files
Use Import folder to import all image files in a folder (and its sub-folders).
Select Upload.
Select Background.
Use the Remove original backgrounds setting:
Turn it off to restore the original backgrounds.
Turn it on to remove the original backgrounds. You can then add a different background.
Select X in the Background panel to return to the Batch.
Select Download images to save your Batch images to your computer. Enter a file name and select the image format and then select Download.
Use a color as the background for Batch images
To use a single color as the background for your Batch images:
Log in at app.photoroom.com.
Select the Space you want to work in.
Select Batch.
Upload images to your Batch:
Use Import images to select individual image files
Use Import folder to import all image files in a folder (and its sub-folders).
Select Upload.
Select Background.
Make sure Remove original backgrounds is on.
On the Color tab, either:
Select a color from one of the collections, such as Standard, Brand kit, Neutral tones, Soft pastels.
Select the picker icon in the Standard collection and select a color on screen.
Select the color spectrum icon in the Standard collection and use the color picker to choose a color.
You can select a color on the preview and use the slider to change the preview color. Alternatively, enter a color value. Use the dropdown to select Hex, RGB, or HSL for the color code. Select Apply this color to use your selected color.
Select X in the Background panel to return to the Batch.
Select Download images to save your Batch images to your computer. Enter a file name and select the image format and then select Download.
Use an image as the background for Batch images
You can use an image as the background for your Batch images. Depending on what you want to achieve, you can either:
Upload your own image
Search for an image on Unsplash or Pixabay
Select an image from our pre-made collections.
You can also edit the image's settings, such as change the brightness or apply a blur effect.

Log in at app.photoroom.com.
Select the Space you want to work in.
Select Batch.
Upload images to your Batch:
Use Import images to select individual image files
Use Import folder to import all image files in a folder (and its sub-folders).
Select Upload.
Select Background.
Make sure Remove original background is on.
Select the Image tab.
Select Choose an image.
Either:
Search for a background image. Enter a term for the search and then use the tabs at the top to see the results from Unsplash and Pixabay. Select the image you want to use.
Upload your own image. Select Start with and then use Upload image.
Choose a recommended image. Select Start with and then select an image from the Recommended section.
Choose an image from one of the categories, such as Marble or Wood. Each category contains images that are designed especially for product photo backgrounds.
Use the settings on the Image tab to fine-tune the background image.
Adjust has settings for brightness, contrast, saturation and more.
Blur has options for different types of blur effect that soften the image and make it go out of focus.
Filter has options for different camera filter looks, such as mono, process, and sepia.
Select X in the Background panel to return to the Batch.
Select Download images to save your Batch images to your computer. Enter a file name and select the image format and then select Download.
Use an AI image as the background for Batch images
You can generate an AI Background for your Batch images based on:
A text prompt, where you enter a description or reuse a previous prompt
An image that you upload
An image that you search for (the search looks for images on Unsplash and Pixabay).
The AI Background feature for Batch images is being updated. The new interface and instructions are coming soon.
