Photoroom is designed to work on most modern, WebGL2-enabled browsers.
The following sections explain the requirements for browsers, computers, iPhones, iPads, and Android devices.
Browser requirements
Photoroom requires a WebGL2-enabled, 64-bit browser, such as the latest version of:
Google Chrome
Microsoft Edge
Mozilla Firefox
Safari.
To test if your browser has WebGL2 enabled, open http://get.webgl.org/webgl2.
Your browser also needs to have hardware acceleration turned on (see below).
Hardware acceleration
To use Photoroom, your browser also needs to have hardware acceleration enabled.
Google Chrome:
In the browser menu, select Settings and then System.
Use the toggle to turn on Use hardware acceleration when available.
Select Relaunch to restart your browser.
FireFox:
In the browser menu, select Menu, then Options, and then System.
Select General.
Under Performance, check the Use recommended performance settings box.
Restart your browser.
Microsoft Edge:
In the browser menu, select Settings and then System.
Use the toggle to turn on Use hardware acceleration when available.
Select Restart to restart your browser.
Safari:
Safari has hardware acceleration turned on automatically. It can't be turned off (since macOS Catalina v10.15).
Computer hardware requirements
We recommend:
Minimum of 8GB system memory
Modern graphics hardware.
Minimum: High-performance graphics card with at least 512MB of video memory.
Best performance: Graphics card with at least 1GB of video memory, especially for working with larger designs or batches.
Note: Dedicated high-performance graphics cards generally deliver superior performance compared to integrated graphics solutions.
iPhone and iPad requirements
Photoroom requires a device with iOS 17 or later:
iPhone models compatible with iOS 17 are listed on Apple support.
iPad models compatible with iPadOS 17 are listed on Apple support.
Android requirements
Photoroom is available on all Android devices with Android 10 or later.
If the app is not installing on your device, first ensure you are installing from the Google Play Store. Installing an apk will not work. If the issue persists, follow the Google Play instructions.
