If you move an object on a design or template that has an AI background or AI shadow, Photoroom will either:

  • Regenerate the AI background or AI shadow to suit the new position of the object

  • Leave the AI background or AI shadow as it was before you moved the object.

By default, Photoroom regenerates AI backgrounds and AI shadows. If you prefer, you can turn the auto-regenerate feature off (on iPhone and iPad only).

Currently, there is no option to turn off auto-regenerate on the Android and Web App versions of Photoroom.

On iPhone and iPad

To turn auto-generation on or off for AI backgrounds and AI shadows on the iPhone and iPad version of Photoroom:

(Video shows Photoroom on iPhone)

  1. On the Create page, select Your Content.

  2. Select Preferences.

  3. Use the Enable automatic regeneration slider to turn the automatic regeneration of AI backgrounds and AI shadows on or off.
