Control auto-regeneration of AI backgrounds and shadows

Learn how to control whether Photoroom automatically regenerates AI backgrounds and AI shadows when you move an object

By default, Photoroom's AI will regenerate your AI Background and any AI Shadows whenever you move an object layer on a design or template. But if you prefer, you can turn this automatic regeneration off.

Before you change the Enable automatic regeneration setting, make sure that you understand how it can affect your image editing (see How enable automatic regeneration works).


On iPhone and iPad

To turn auto-generation for AI backgrounds and AI shadows on or off:

  1. On the Create page, select Your Content.

  2. Select Preferences.

  3. Use the Enable automatic regeneration slider to turn the automatic regeneration of AI backgrounds and AI shadows on or off.

  4. Select Back to navigate back to Your Content.


On Android

To turn auto-generation for AI backgrounds and AI shadows on or off:

  1. On the Create page, select Your Content.

  2. Select Preferences.

  3. Use the Enable automatic regeneration switch to turn the automatic regeneration of AI backgrounds and AI shadows on or off.

  4. Use the back arrow to navigate back to Your Content.


On Web App

To turn auto-generation for AI backgrounds and AI shadows on or off:

  1. On the Home page, select Preferences.

  2. Use the Enable automatic regeneration switch to turn the automatic regeneration of AI backgrounds and AI shadows on or off.

  3. Close the Preferences dialog.
