Light On creates a lighting effect on a layer in your design, making it lighter so that the details and colors pop. It is especially useful if you import a photo and it looks a little dark and muted. You can use it on one layer or all of the layers in your design.
For example, in the image above, the original design (left) looks muted and dark. With Light On turned on (right), the t-shirt is much brighter and more vibrant.
On iPhone and iPad
To use Improve light on a dark design:

Select Content.
Select the workspace that contains the dark design.
If you have not imported the dark image yet, select the workspace you want to work in.Either:
Select the dark design to open it in the editor.
Select New design and then upload your dark photo and let Photoroom remove its background. Choose a template for your image to open it as a design in the editor.
Select the layer that you want to lighten.
Either select the layer directly on your design or select Layers and then select the layer.
Select Improve light to toggle the light effect on and off, as required.
Select Done to close the layer settings.
[Optional] Select Export to export your design as an image file or share it with other people.
Select X to exit the editor and save your design.
On Android
To use Improve light on a dark design:
Select Content.
Select the workspace that contains the dark design.
If you have not imported the dark image yet, select the workspace you want to work in.Either:
Select the dark design to open it in the editor.
Select New design and then upload your dark photo and let Photoroom remove its background. Choose a template for your image to open it as a design in the editor.
Select the layer that you want to lighten.
Either select the layer directly on your design or select Layers and then select the layer.
Select Improve lighting to toggle the light effect on and off, as required.
Select Done to close the layer settings.
[Optional] Select Export to export your design as an image file or share it with other people.
Select Done or the back arrow to exit the editor and save your design.
On Web App
On the Web App, the improve light feature is called Light On. To use it follow the instructions below:
Log in to Photoroom at app.photoroom.com.
Select the workspace that contains the dark design.
If you have not imported the dark image yet, select the workspace you want to work in.
Either:
Select the dark design to open it in the editor.
Select Create new and then upload your dark photo.
Select the layer you want to lighten. If you cannot select the layer directly on the design, left-click in the gray background of the editor, in the space around the design. You can now select the layer in the side panel.
Use the Light On option to toggle the light effect on or off.
[Optional] Select the download button to download the design as an image file in the browser. Enter a name and choose the image file type and then select Download.
Select Home to exit the editor and save your design.
