Most layers on a design have a Contrast setting that you can use to control the difference between the light and dark areas.

  • Increase the contrast to make dark areas get darker and light areas get lighter.

  • Decrease the contrast to reduce the amount of difference between the dark and light areas. This can create a softer, more faded look.

For example:

Three images side-by-side. Image 1 shows a necklace with a lighter, more faded background.

Image 1 has low contrast on the background layer and has a lighter, softer appearance.

Image 2 is the original image with no contrast applied.

Image 3 has more contrast on the background layer, creating a darker, more dramatic look.

To use Contrast, open a design in the editor and then select the layer you want to edit. Look for Contrast in the Adjust settings. For detailed instructions, see Adjust the visual properties of a layer.
