To style the text in your Photoroom designs, you can use:

  • Photoroom-supplied fonts

  • Custom fonts

  • Third-party fonts.

Note: Some fonts only support Latin-based languages. If you try to use one of these fonts for a non-Latin language, such as Russian or Arabic, a fallback font is used instead.

Photoroom-supplied fonts

Photoroom comes with a wide range of fonts that you can use in your designs. These include:

  • A selection of Google fonts

  • Some additional fonts, listed below.

Google fonts

Photoroom includes many, but not all, Google fonts. All Google fonts are free to use in commercial and non-commercial projects.

You can find out about the full range of Google fonts at fonts.google.com. If you see a Google font that you want to use, but is not currently included in Photoroom, you can upload it yourself as a third-party font.

Additional fonts

Photoroom also includes these additional fonts:

  • AbrilFatface-Regular

  • Aileron-Regular

  • Anton-Regular

  • ArchivoBlack-Regular

  • Bagnard

  • CooperHewitt-Medium

  • GravitasOne

  • Lato-Black

  • Lato-Hairline

  • LeagueGothic-Italic

  • LibreBaskerville-Regular

  • OpenSans-BoldItalic

  • PlayfairDisplay-Black

  • PlayfairDisplay-BlackItalic

  • Poppins-Regular

  • Ribes-Black

  • TerminalGrotesque-Open

  • YoungSerif-Regular.

You can use all of these fonts in commercial and non-commercial projects. Most of them are licensed under the SIL Open Font License. The exceptions are:

  • Aileron-Regular, licensed under CC0 1.0 Public Domain license

  • OpenSans-BoldItalic, licensed under Apache License, Version 2.0 license.

Note: There are also 2 Adobe fonts: AzoSans-Regular and AzoSans-Bold. These are NOT free to use and require a paid license.

Custom fonts

Custom fonts are fonts that have been specially created or modified for a brand or project. If your business has these types of font, you can add them to your brand kit. When you edit your designs, you can choose the font from the brand kit instead of the fonts included in Photoroom.

Photoroom supports fonts in these formats:

  • OTF (OpenType Font)

  • .TTF (TrueType Font)

  • .WOFF (Web Open Font Format).

Do not upload fonts unless they are open source or you have the license to use them.

Tip: On the Web App, you can get Photoroom to automatically import brand logos, colors, and fonts from your website! To find out more, see Import website content into your brand kit.

Third-party fonts

Third-party fonts are fonts that are made available online, either as free-to-use fonts or as fonts that you can buy for your projects. To use them in Photoroom, you will need to add them to your brand kit.

Fallback fonts for languages that use non-Latin characters

Some fonts do not support languages that use non-Latin characters, such as Russian and Arabic.

If a font does not support the characters in your language, Photoroom uses a fallback font instead. The fallback fonts are:

  • Noto Sans (Latin, Cyrillic, Greek)

  • Noto Sans Arabic

  • Noto Sans KR (Korean)

  • Noto Sans TC (Traditional Chinese)

  • Noto Sans Thai

  • Noto Sans Hebrew

These are all Google fonts and are free to use on commercial and non-commercial projects. They are licensed under the SIL Open Font License.
