Color selectors (iOS)

Learn how to use Photoroom's color selectors (iOS)

Some features in Photoroom let you choose a color. For example, if you have a single-color background, you'll be able to choose and change the color. On the iOS version of Photoroom, there are several ways to choose a color, including:

  • Color palette

  • Eyedropper (select a color shown on-screen)

  • Grid chart

  • Spectrum chart

  • Sliders to set a color value

  • Enter a color value.

Choose from a color palette (iOS)

You can choose a color from a color palette. Photoroom includes several categories, including:

  • Suggested - Colors that are complementary to the colors in your image

  • Brand - Colors that are set in the Brand Kit for the Space

  • Standard colors - A range of colors.

Select a color to apply it.


Use the eyedropper tool (iOS)

The eyedropper tool lets you select a color that is currently shown on your screen.

To use the eyedropper:

  1. Select the eyedropper icon (pipette) in the color palette or select the Pick color option.

  2. Select the on-screen color that you want.

  3. Select Confirm.


Choose from a color Grid (iOS)

The Advanced color settings have a Grid tab that displays a color chart. You can select any color from the chart.

  1. On the color palette, select Advanced.

  2. Select the Grid tab.

  3. Either:

    1. Select a color from the chart.

    2. Select the eyedropper icon, select an on-screen color, and then select Confirm.

  4. [Optional] Select the + icon to add the color to your favorites (shown at the bottom).

  5. Select Done to apply the currently selected color.


Choose from a color Spectrum (iOS)

The Advanced color settings have a Spectrum tab that displays a color chart. You can select any color from the chart.

  1. On the color palette, select Advanced.

  2. Select the Spectrum tab.

  3. Either:

    • Select a color from the chart.

    • Select the eyedropper icon, select an on-screen color, and then select Confirm.

  4. [Optional] Select the + icon to add the color to your favorites (shown at the bottom).

  5. Select Done to apply the currently selected color.


Use Sliders to set the color (iOS)

Use the Sliders tab to set a color using sliders or a specific color value. The Sliders tab is available in the Advanced color settings.

  1. On the color palette, select Advanced.

  2. Select the Sliders tab.

  3. Select the link next to the color value field and choose the type of color value:

    • sRGB
      Standard Red Green Blue. This is an international standard for colors.

    • Display p3
      A wide color space designed by Apple.

  4. Either:

    • Use the sliders to change the color value.

    • Enter the color values you want in the fields next to the sliders

    • Enter the color value you want in the color value field below the sliders.

  5. [Optional] Select the + icon to add the color to your favorites (shown at the bottom).

  6. Select Done to apply the currently selected color.

You can enter a specific color value on the Sliders tab in the Advanced settings (see "Use Sliders to set the color", earlier in this article).
