Each layer in your design has a position relative to other layers—it can be in front of or behind them. You can change a layer’s position by adjusting the layer stack order.

In this article, we explain how to change the layer stack order on the Web App version of Photoroom. If you're using the iOS or Android versions of Photoroom, see:

On Web App

To move a layer in front or behind another layer:

  1. Select the Space you want to work in.

  2. Select Designs.

  3. Select the design you want to edit.

  4. Click on the gray area surrounding your design's canvas to display the layers stack order.

  5. Select a layer in the stack order list and drag-and-drop it to a new position.

    • Move the layer up the list to move it in front of the lower layers.

    • Move the layer down the list to move it behind the higher layers.

  6. [Optional] Use the editor settings to make further changes, such as add text or graphics.

  7. [Optional] Select Download to download the design as an image. Enter a name for the file, select the image format, and then select Download to confirm.

  8. Select Home to exit the editor. Photoroom saves your design automatically.
