Steps (Web App)
To generate Virtual Model images for your Product Catalog:
(Video is edited to show faster AI generation times).
Stage 1: Access the Virtual Model tool
Select any of the product's images to open the Product Catalog Editor.
Select AI Tools.
Select Virtual Model.
Alternatively, you can select a product image to display its pill menu. Select More tools and then Virtual Model.
Stage 2: Use the Virtual Model settings
Use the Virtual Model settings to give Photoroom instructions:
Select the images you want to use. Photoroom will generate a Virtual Model image for each image you select.
To learn about selecting, see How to select images using the Product Catalog (Web App).
Choose a Model from the list or use + Custom to create your own.
Choose the Quality (availability depends on your subscription):
Premium is 4k+, best AI model, consumes most AI credits
Advanced is 2k, high quality AI model, consumes more AI credits than Standard, but less than Premium.
Standard is 1k, fastest AI model, consumes less AI credits.
Select a Background. Choose from one of the themes or use + Custom to upload your own image.
Choose a Pose to set the position of the model.
Choose a Size from the list. There are several orientations and aspect ratios to choose from or keep the Original size.
Choose whether the Brand description should influence the prompt.
Note: The Brand description is stored in the Brand kit for the Space. If you edit the Brand description in Batch, it will affect the Brand description across the Space.
Use the prompt to describe anything else you want in the image, for example, "the model is smiling".
Select Generate.
Generating images costs AI credits.
Photoroom generates a Virtual Model image for each selected image based on your settings.
Note: The Virtual Model settings are the same as the settings for the standalone Virtual Model tool.
Stage 3: Edit your product images
The editing steps in this stage are optional. Features that use AI to generate an image require AI credits.
You can edit your product images in several ways:
Use the Product Catalog Editor options in the side menu
Select a product image and use the options available from its pill menu
Open an image in the main editor to make edits that are unavailable in the Product Catalog Editor, such as adding text and graphics.
To learn how to use these tools, see the Edit Product Catalog images articles.
Stage 4: Publish
When you have finished editing:
Use the Shopify sidebar to check the listing score.
Follow any recommendations to improve the score, such as adding more images.
Check the SEO filenames and Alt text for your images.
Photoroom generates them automatically, but you can also edit them manually or generate new ones.
