Organize batch images into sections (Web App)

Learn how to create sections to organize your batch images into groups. Web App.

Use Sections to group Batch images into separate categories. You can create as many sections as you need, each with its own name and options that apply only to the images in that section. For example, in the image below, there is a section for Flat Lay images and a section for AI Fashion Model images.

Sections make it easier to:

  • Manage large batches

  • Quickly select groups of images

  • Generate AI images from a group of images

  • Keep exported files organized when downloading assets as ZIP files.

Steps (Web App)

To organize batch images into sections:

Create sections for batch images

To create sections:

  1. Create a Batch of images.

  2. Make sure the Batch Editor is in Grid View.

    If it is in Full Screen View, select the view toggle option on the toolbar to switch to Grid View.

  3. Right-click on a batch image to display a context menu.

  4. Select Create new section.

    Photoroom creates a new section and moves the selected image into it. It also creates another section to contain any other images that are not in sections already.
    ​

  5. To name your sections, double-click on the section name and then enter a new name.
    ​
    ​Note: You can also select the Rename option, which is available from the context menu if you right-click on the section name.
    ​

  6. Repeat steps 3-5 until you have all of the sections you need.
    ​

Move batch images into sections

Drag your batch images into the appropriate sections. You can drag individual images or move multiple selected images at once.

​Note: Photoroom automatically deletes sections that have no images in them.

Reorder your sections

Sections are arranged in a stack, one above the other.

To change the stack order, drag the section up or down.

​Note: Alternatively, right-click on the section name to display a context menu and select Move up or Move down.

Download a section of batch images

To download the images in one section only:

  1. Click on the section name to display the pill menu for the section.

  2. Select the Download icon.

​​Note: You can also download a section from the context menu for the section. Right-click on the section title and select Download as ZIP.

Delete a section

Important! If you delete a section, Photoroom deletes the section and all of the images in that section. If you need to keep the images, move them to another section before you delete.

To delete a section:

  1. Click on the section name to display the pill menu for the section.

  2. Select the trash icon.

​​Note: You can also delete a section from the context menu for the section. Right-click on the section title and select Delete.

Missing sections

If a section no longer appears, it is usually because:

  • Photoroom has automatically deleted the section as it no longer contained any images. This can happen if you move all of the images out of a section into another section.
    ​

  • You deleted the section.

If you still need the section, create it again and leave at least one image in it.
