Image Guidance lets you provide an image that Photoroom uses as inspiration when generating AI Backgrounds. This makes it easy to create a series of images that look like they were shot at the same location.
Note: Image Guidance is sometimes called an "image prompt" or "inspiration prompt".
How does Image Guidance work?
With Image Guidance, you provide an image file instead of choosing an AI Background from a list of categories or using a text prompt. You can upload an image, take a photo with your device's camera, or use an AI image you generated with Photoroom. If you're using the Web App, you can also search for an image on Unsplash.
Once you provide an image, Photoroom analyzes it and then generates an AI Background that is a close match.
For example, here we uploaded a photo of a white wall with graffiti on it and used it as image guidance for two different product photos. The result is two very similar, but not identical, AI Backgrounds.
Benefits of Image Guidance
Image Guidance lets you create more consistent backgrounds using the AI Backgrounds feature.
Also, the generated image remains an AI Background. If you move or change the foreground layer, you can choose to regenerate the AI Background.
Does Image Guidance use AI credits?
Yes, as it is part of AI Backgrounds. Every time a new AI Background is generated, it consumes AI credits.
Which AI models support Image Guidance?
You can use Image Guidance with:
Studio HD
Studio
v3
v2
Availability
Image Guidance is available to use with the AI Backgrounds feature on iOS, Android, and the Web App.
Requires AI credits. Each generation consumes AI credits.
