Image Guidance lets you provide an image that Photoroom uses as inspiration when generating AI Backgrounds. This makes it easy to create a series of images that look like they were shot at the same location.

We recommend images under 30 MB and up to 5,000 px on widest side for best performance. For details of supported formats, see Supported file formats.
Search Unsplash for an image and select it. Photoroom's search is connected to Unsplash.
Select Generate images.
Select one of the backgrounds that Photoroom generates.
Alternatively, select Generate more to create alternatives.

Troubleshooting
Background images are not the same
Image guidance is not designed to produce exact matches. The AI creates the background especially for the foreground image, and adapts based on colors, lighting, and other factors. When using image guidance, the backgrounds should be similar, but not identical.
If you need an identical background, you can create an image showing just the background and save it as a template. In a template, the background image is a static image, so when you apply it to your designs, it will always look the same.
Cannot upload image
If you cannot upload your background image, it is likely because:
Image is in an unsupported file format
Use a conversion service or app to convert your image into a Supported file format and try again.
File size is too large
Reduce the size of your image and try again.
Browser issues
Clear your cache and try again. Alternatively, try using a different browser.
Network problems
Contact your IT manager or network provider for assistance.
