Edit a Shopify product image in the main editor (Android)

How to open a Shopify image in the main editor, where you can add text, add graphics, and edit individual layers. Android.

The Shopify Products editor has settings for making common changes to all of the product listing images, such as resizing and changing the backgrounds. For other changes, you can edit a product image in the main Photoroom editor.

When you use the main editor to make changes, you can:

  • Access features that are unavailable in the Product Catalog Editor, such as options for adding text and editing layer settings like brightness, saturation, and blur.

  • Choose whether the changes apply to all images or only the image you edited.

Availability

  • Photoroom for Shopify must be connected to your Shopify store

  • Publishing to Shopify requires a Max or Ultra subscription.

Steps (Android)

To edit a Shopify image in the main editor:

Note: In the video, we choose to apply the changes to all images. This is optional.

  1. Open your Product Catalog and select the product you want to edit.

  2. Select the image you want to edit.
    ​
    The image opens in the main Photoroom editor.
    ​

  3. Use the main editor to make changes, for example, you can:
    ​

    • Insert graphics and images

    • Add text

    • Change the layer order

    • Alter a layer's settings, such as brightness and opacity.
      ​

  4. [Optional] Use the Previous or Next options to load the previous or next product image in the editor. You can then use the editor to make changes to that image, before proceeding to another image.
    ​

  5. Select the back arrow to exit the main Photoroom editor and return to the Shopify Products editor.
    ​
    When you return to the Shopify Products editor, a time-sensitive Apply recent edits to all option appears (see next step).
    ​

  6. Choose whether you want to apply the changes to all of the product images.
    ​
    Either:
    ​

    • Select Apply to add the changes to all of the product listing images:
      ​

      • The changes you made to the last image in the sequence will be added to all of the product images.
        ​

      • The other images in the sequence will keep the changes you made to those and also inherit the edits from the last image.
        ​

    • Wait for the Apply recent edits to all option to close automatically. The changes you made in the main Photoroom editor will only apply to the images you edited.
      ​

  7. [Optional] Make additional changes using the Shopify Products Editor.

  8. When you have finished editing, publish your changes to Shopify.
    ​
