To change the size of a photo, use the Resize feature. Photoroom has a range of pre-set sizes for social media and marketplace sites and you can set a custom size too.

Photoroom Resizing is only available on the Pro plan.

Resize a design (iPhone, iPad, Android)

The process for resizing a design is similar on iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.

(Video shows Photoroom on iPhone)

  1. Select Your Content and choose the design that you want to resize.

  2. Select Resize.

  3. Either select one of the predesigned sizes or select Custom. If you select Custom, you can enter the width and height.

  4. Select:

    1. Fill
To resize the design from the center so that the objects in the design fill the canvas. The design may go outside of the canvas boundaries.

    2. Fit
To resize the design so that the entire image fits on the canvas.

  5. Drag the image to reposition it on the canvas, if required.

  6. Select Done.

  7. This step only applies on iPhone and iPad.
    Choose either:

    1. Resize Original
To replace the original image with your resized version.

    2. Resize as a Copy
To keep the original image and save your resized version as a new design.

Photoroom adds your resized image to Your Content.

Note: On Android, resized images replace the original image.

Resize a design (Web App)

To use the Resize feature on the web app:

(Video shows Photoroom on Web App)

  1. Select Your Content and choose the design that you want to resize.

  2. Select Resize.

  3. Select the resize mode:

    1. Smart
To resize the design so that it fits the canvas without having gaps around the edge (as can happen with Fit). Smart mode may change the positioning of some objects to limit cropping.

    2. Fill
To resize the design from the center so that the objects in the design fill the canvas. The design may go outside of the canvas boundaries.

    3. Fit
To resize the design so that the entire design fits on the canvas. This may leave space around the edges of the canvas.

  4. Either select one of the predesigned sizes or select Custom. If you select Custom, you can enter the width and height.

  5. Drag the image to reposition it on the canvas, if required. You can also use the handles to resize the objects manually.

  6. Select Download.
Photoroom downloads the image file in your browser. It also replaces the original image with your resized version in Your Content.
