In this article, we will show you how to change a custom file name back to the original Photoroom file name. The original Photoroom file name contains "Photoroom" and a number. It is the name that was automatically generated by Photoroom when you created the design.

Two iPhones side-by-side. Both show the saving options. The phone on the left has the file name set to red-white-striped-shirt. The phone on the right has the original file name which is Photoroom_20250317_175517.

Note: On the Web App version of Photoroom, you can set the file name when you download the image file (see Export a design).

On iPhone and iPad

To get a design to keep the original file name on the iPhone or iPad version of Photoroom:

  1. On the Create page, select Your Content.

  2. Select the design you want to edit.

  3. Select Export.

  4. Select the workspace name directly below the image preview to display the Saving options.

  5. Switch on the Keep original file name option. You will see that Photoroom replaces the custom file name with the original file name, for example, Photoroom_20250312_092253.jpg

  6. Select the cross icon ( X ) to close the Saving options.

  7. Select Done.
