Rotate an object or background

Learn how to rotate objects in your Photoroom designs

Use the Rotate feature to change the angle of any object layer or even the background. Depending on what you need, you can rotate a layer freehand or rotate it by specific amounts.

On iPhone and iPad

To rotate an object layer on the iPhone and iPad versions of Photoroom:

  1. Select Your Content.

  2. Select the workspace you want to work in.

  3. Select the design you want to edit.

    Alternatively, you can create a new design and edit that instead. For details, see Create your first Photoroom design.

  4. Select the layer you want to rotate. You can either select the layer on the design or select Layers and then select the relevant layer.

  5. Either:

    • Use gestures to rotate the layer freehand

    • Select Transform and then Rotate and use the slider to rotate the layer by a specific amount.

    • Select Transform and then 90 degrees to rotate the layer by exactly 90 degrees from its current position.

  6. Select Done.

  7. [Optional] Use the other editing settings to make further changes to the design.

  8. [Optional] Select Export. Use the export settings to download the design as an image file and share the design with other people.

  9. Select the back icon to close the editor and save your design.


On Android

To rotate an object layer on the Android version of Photoroom:

  1. Select Your Content.

  2. Select the workspace you want to work in.

  3. Select the design you want to edit.

    Alternatively, you can create a new design and edit that instead. For details, see Create your first Photoroom design.

  4. Select the layer you want to rotate. You can either select the layer on the design or select Layers and then select the relevant layer.

  5. Either:

    • Use gestures to rotate the layer freehand

    • Select Transform and then Rotate and use the slider to rotate the layer by a specific amount.

    • Select Transform and then 90 degrees to rotate the layer by exactly 90 degrees from its current position.

  6. Select Done.

  9. Select the back icon to close the editor and save your design.


On Web App

If you are using the Web App version of Photoroom, you can rotate an object like this:

  1. Log in to Photoroom at app.photoroom.com.

  2. Select the workspace that you want to work in.

  3. Select Designs and then select the design you want to edit.

    Alternatively, you can create a new design and edit that instead (see Create your first Photoroom design ).

  4. Select an object layer that you want to rotate. You can either select the layer on the design or select the gray background of the editor to display the layers in the sidebar. Select the relevant layer in the sidebar.

  5. Either:

    • Select the rotate handle at the bottom of the selected object layer. Keep the mouse-button pressed down and move the cursor to rotate the layer.

    • Select Transform and then use the Rotate slider to rotate the object layer by a specific amount.

  6. [Optional] Use the other editing settings to make further changes to the design.

  7. [Optional] Select the download icon to download the design as an image file. Enter a name for the file and choose the image file type and then select Download.

  8. Select the Home icon to exit the editor and save your design.
