Want to add stylish shadow effects to your designs? The AI Shadows feature is exactly what you need. It adds shadows based on the lighting and the position of the objects in your design.

On iPhone and iPad

To add AI Shadows to your designs on an iPhone or iPad:

(Video shows Photoroom on iPhone)

  1. On the Create page, select Your Content and then select the design you want to edit. Alternatively, you can create a new design from the Create page, choose a template, and then edit your new design.

  2. Select Shadows.

  3. Choose one of the preset AI Shadow types:

    • Soft for a lighter, less intense shadow

    • Hard for a darker, more intense shadow

    • Floating for a shadow below the object.

  4. Select Apply this shadow.

Photoroom's AI generates the shadow, based on your choice of shadow type and the lighting in the image. It adds a layer for the shadow to your design. While the shadow layer has its own settings, it is usually better to avoid using them.

If you change your mind and want to apply a different type of shadow, select Change shadow style. Choose Soft, Hard, or Floating.

  5. [Optional] Use the editing settings to make further changes to your design.

  6. Select Export. Use the export settings to save and share your design as required.

  7. Select Done.
