PhotoRoom's powerful AI can create shadows for your designs automatically. When you use the Instant Shadows feature, you can choose the type of shadow you want and leave the rest to the AI. It will generate the shadow based on the position of the object in your design and also the lighting.

To learn how to use the Instant Shadows feature, select the link for your device.

On iPhone and iPad

To add Instant Shadows to your designs on an iPhone or iPad:

  1. On the Create page, select Your Content and then select the design you want to edit. Alternatively, you can create a new design from the Create page and then edit that.

  2. Select Shadows.

  3. Choose one of the preset Instant Shadow types:

    • Soft for a lighter, less intense shadow

    • Hard for a darker, more intense shadow

    • Floating for a shadow below the object.

  4. Select Apply this shadow.

PhotoRoom's AI generates the shadow, based on your choice of shadow type and the lighting in the image. It adds a layer for the shadow to your image. While the shadow layer has its own settings, it is usually better to avoid using them.

  5. Select the Export icon in the top-right corner. Use the export settings to save and share your design as required.
