Delete an AI Shadow

Looking to remove an AI Shadow from your design? Here's how you do it.

If you have an AI-generated shadow in your design and you want to remove it, you can delete the Shadow layer.

Note: These instructions are for deleting a shadow that was created by using the AI Shadow feature. These shadows get a shadow layer.

You cannot remove shadows that the AI adds as part of an AI image or AI background. But you could try using a custom prompt to direct the AI to avoid using shadows (see Create your own AI backgrounds and Create an AI image).


On iPhone and iPad

To delete an AI on the iPhone or iPad version of Photoroom:

  1. On the Create page, select Your Content.

  2. Select the design that contains the AI Shadow you want to remove.

  3. Select Layers.

  4. Select the Shadow layer.

  5. Select Delete.

  6. [Optional] Use the editing settings to make further changes to your design.

  7. Select the Export icon in the top-right corner. Use the export options to save your changes and share the image.


On Android

To delete an AI shadow on the Android version of Photoroom:

  1. On the Create page, select Your Content.

  2. Select the design that contains the AI Shadow you want to remove.

  3. Select Layers.

  4. Select the Shadow layer.

  5. Select Delete.

  6. [Optional] Use the editing settings to make further changes to your design.

  7. Select Export. Use the export options to save your changes and share the image.


On Web App

To delete an AI shadow on the Web App (desktop) version of Photoroom:

  1. On the Create page, select Designs.

  2. Select the design that contains the AI Shadow you want to remove.

  3. Select the Shadow layer.

  4. Select Delete.

  5. [Optional] Use the editing settings to make further changes to your design.

  6. Select Download to download a local copy and save your design in your workspace.
