Create a basic team (free team)

All users can create a free basic team. A basic team has a team workspace but it only provides access to free features.

  • If you are a free user (no Pro plan), you can create a basic team and invite other users to join it.

  • If you are a Pro user, the first team that you create is a Pro team. Every team you create after that is a basic team (free).

You can upgrade your free teams to Pro at any time.

On iPhone and iPad

To create a free basic team on the iPhone or iPad version of Photoroom:

  1. Open the Photoroom app.

  2. On the Create page, select Your Content.

  3. Select Start a team.

  4. Select Create a team.

  5. Enter a team name and then select Create team.

  6. [Optional] Enter the email address for 1 or 2 people that you would like to invite to join your team. If you don't want to invite anyone at this stage, select the Skip link instead and ignore step 7.

  7. Select Send invites. Photoroom will send invitation emails to the address you provided. The recipients will need to use the link in the email to accept the invitation and join your team.

  8. Select Continue. Photoroom activates the workspace for your new team. To switch to other workspaces, select the team name and choose the workspace from the list (see Switch between workspaces).

Note: Remember that if you log in as a Pro user, the first team is a Pro team. This is included in your Pro plan (you get the admin plus 2 other users as Pro).


On Android

To create a free basic team on the Android version of Photoroom:

  1. Open the Photoroom app.

  2. On the Create page, select Your Content.

  3. Select Start a team. If you do not see the Start a team option, select the name of the workspace at the top and then select Create a team from the pop-up.

  4. Select Create a team.

  5. Enter a team name and then select Create team.

  6. [Optional] Enter the email address for 1 or 2 people that you would like to invite to join your team. If you don't want to invite anyone at this stage, select the Skip link instead and ignore step 7.

  7. Select Send invites. Photoroom will send invitation emails to the address you provided. The recipients will need to use the link in the email to accept the invitation and join your team.

  8. Select Continue. Photoroom activates the workspace for your new team. To switch to other workspaces, select the team name and choose the workspace from the list (see Switch between workspaces).

On Web App

To create a free basic team on the Web App (desktop) version of Photoroom:

  1. Log in to the Web App at app.photoroom.com.

  2. Select Create Team.

  3. Select Create a team.

  4. Enter a team name and then select Continue.

  5. [Optional] Enter the email address for 1 or 2 people that you would like to invite to join your team. If you don't want to invite anyone at this stage, select Skip this step instead and ignore step 6.

  6. Select Send invites. Photoroom will send invitation emails to the address you provided. The recipients will need to use the link in the email to accept the invitation and join your team.

  7. Select Let's Go. Photoroom activates the workspace for your new team.

  8. [Optional] Enter a Team description in the Team Details. The description helps other users to understand the purpose of the team. Select Save to confirm.

  9. Select X to close the Team Details.

To switch to other workspaces, select the team name and choose the workspace from the list (see Switch between workspaces).
