Use Photoroom's profile templates to create a stylish profile (ID) picture

Do you need a professional and stylish profile image for your website, blog, or work ID? Photoroom can help with that. You can import your photo, choose one of our profile templates, and create a stunning profile image in just a few steps.

On iPhone and iPad

To create a profile picture on the iPhone or iPad version of Photoroom:

  1. Take a suitable photo. Face the camera and aim to get your head and shoulders in the frame.

  2. Open Photoroom and on the Create page, select Start from Photo.

  3. Choose your photo. Photoroom will upload it and remove the background automatically.

  4. Choose a profile template for the background.

    You can scroll down to the profile template options or use the template search at the top to search for "profile".

  5. [Optional] Select your photo in the design and then use gestures to resize and reposition it. There are also settings for the photo layer that you can use to change the brightness, shadows and more. Search the help center for information on the various settings.

  6. Select Export.

  7. Choose Save Image to save the profile design to your device's photo gallery. Alternatively, select Save to Files to save it to a folder of your choice. You also have options for sharing the file, for details, see Export a design.

To use your profile image in other systems, download it from your photo gallery or chosen folder.


On Android

To create a profile picture on the Android version of Photoroom:

To create a profile picture on the Android version of Photoroom:

  1. Take a suitable photo. Face the camera and aim to get your head and shoulders in the frame.

  2. Upload your photo to a folder on your computer or to a drive your computer can access.

  3. Log in to photoroom at app.photoroom.com.

  4. On the Create page, select Select a photo.

  5. Browse to your photo and select it. Photoroom will upload it and remove the background automatically.

  6. Select Templates.

  7. Choose a profile template for the background.

    You can scroll down to the profile template options or use the template search at the top to search for "profile".

  8. [Optional] Select your photo in the design and then resize and reposition it. There are also settings for the photo layer that you can use to change the brightness, shadows and more. Search the help center for information on the various settings.

  9. Select Download.

  10. Set the filename for your image and the format.

  11. Select Download. Your image downloads in the browser and also saves as a design in Photoroom.

  12. Use your computer's file browser to move the image file from the Downloads folder to a folder of your choice.
