AI-generated backgrounds are designed to suit the lighting and shadows in your photos. That's why it is usually better to have similar AI backgrounds for your photos rather than identical backgrounds.
For example, here we have 2 similar AI backgrounds, used on promotional photos for perfumes. They are not identical backgrounds, but they look like part of the same photoshoot.
An easy way to create similar AI backgrounds is to use an image prompt. This is where you use an existing image as inspiration for the AI background (instructions below).
Note: If you need backgrounds that are more closely matched, see Use the same AI backgrounds on multiple designs. The article explains how to create a static image from an AI background and then use that as the background instead.
On iPhone and iPad
To create similar AI backgrounds on the iPhone or iPad version of Photoroom:
(Video shows Photoroom on iPhone)
The video above shows the entire process. As there are many steps to follow, we have broken it down into two stages.
Stage 1: Create an image with an AI background and export it
In this stage, you're going to create a design that has an AI background that you want to reuse.
Select Content.
Select the workspace you want to work in.
Note: If you already have a design with a suitable AI background, select it to open it in the editor. Then select Export and when the export is completed, select X to exit the editor. Ignore the remaining steps in Stage 1 and continue from Stage 2.
Select New design.
Upload a photo and wait for Photoroom to remove its background.
Select AI Backgrounds.
Choose a suggested AI background or select Create a background and use a prompt to create the scene you want. For example, you could prompt for "a beach scene with an island in the background".
[Optional] Use Generate more to create alternatives.
[Optional] Select the dotted menu ( ... ) at the bottom.
Use Object size to change the size of your foreground objects.
Use Format to change the size of the overall design.

Select the AI background you want to use.
Select Export to save your design as an image file on your device.
Select X to exit the editor.
You now have an exported image file that you can use in Stage 2.
