On the Web App, you can resize an AI image without opening it in the main editor. The Resize option lets you choose:
A different canvas size
How you want the image to fit on the canvas.
For example, you could resize a portrait image so that it becomes a landscape image.
Availability
You can use Resize on the Web App.
For Android and iOS, create an AI image or view your existing ones. Select the image you want and then choose Use this image to open it in the main editor. Use the main editor to resize the image.
Steps (Web App)
To resize an AI image:
Log in at app.photoroom.com.
Select the Space you want to work in.
Select AI tools.
Select the AI tool you want to use, for example, Virtual Model.
Either:
Use the AI tool to generate a new image.
Use an existing AI image.
Select the image.
Select ... More actions and then Resize.
Choose a predefined size or select Custom size and enter your own size requirements.
Choose how to fit the image on the canvas:
Reset
The original image is kept at its current size and placed on the new canvas. Any empty space around it is transparent.
Zoom fill
Zooms in on the main subject to fill the resized canvas.
Expanded backgrounds
AI is used to fill in any empty areas on the resized canvas. This is only available with a Pro or higher subscription plan.
Generate more
Generate alternatives to choose from.
Select Done to confirm or Cancel to go back.
If you select Done, Photoroom opens the resized design in the main editor. There, you can make further changes, such as adding text or graphics.
[Optional] Select Download to download the design as an image file.
Select Home to exit the editor.
Photoroom saves the design automatically when you exit the editor.
