Photoroom's Instagram Story tool generates a ready-to-use Instagram Story image from a text description. There's no need to provide an image of your own.

Use this tool to create Instagram Story images like sales/discount announcements, new product or service launches, and general business advertising.

4 examples of Instagram Story images generated by Photoroom. Each example shows a different style.

How it works:

  1. You enter a description of your business and what you want to promote.

  2. You use the settings to choose a style and size.

  3. Photoroom generates 2 images based on your description and choices.

In this article, we explain how to use Instagram Story and its various settings. For step-by-step instructions, see the Create an Instagram Story image articles listed in the Related content section at the end.

  • Prompt

  • Style

  • Size

Prompt

Enter a description of the Instagram Story image you want Photoroom to create.

Tips for writing Instagram Story prompts

  • Put text requirements first and keep them minimal. State exactly what words must appear and limit it to 2 or 3 lines max.

  • Describe where to place the text and any other visuals.

  • Tell Photoroom where to leave "white space" or "negative space" for better image composition.

  • Name specific colors, if colors are important.

Example:

We used the prompt below to create this Instagram Story image:

Text overlay (required, do not omit): "SALE NOW ON" as a large, bold headline in the lower-middle third of the frame. "ACME" in small letter-spaced capitals in the upper third. No other text.

Style: bold, energetic, contemporary retail photography. High contrast, vibrant, graphic rather than soft or editorial.

Setting: a solid mustard yellow background, evenly lit, minimal shadow.

Composition: one curved sofa in teal, positioned slightly off-center in the lower two-thirds of the frame, cropped at the edges for dynamism. Clear negative space in the upper third for the "ACME" text, and clear space in the lower-middle third for the "SALE NOW ON" headline.

Typography style: "SALE NOW ON" in a bold, heavy white sans-serif font. "ACME" in a smaller white or teal sans-serif font.

Mood: fun, loud, high-energy, urgent. No muted tones, no natural light, no soft shadows.
