You can replace the background in any design with an AI Background. Just describe the background you want and Photoroom will create it. It’s a fast, simple way to repurpose existing images and explore new visual styles.
In this article, we explain how to replace a regular background with an AI Background when using the Web App version of Photoroom. If you're using the iOS or Android version, see:

On Web App
To replace a background (regular or AI Background) with a new AI Background:

Log in at app.photoroom.com.
Select the Space you want to work in.
Select the design you want to edit.
[Optional] Select Resize and choose the size and orientation for your design.
Select Backgrounds.
Select AI Backgrounds.
[Optional] Select the AI model to use for generating the AI background.
To learn about the AI models, see AI models for AI Backgrounds.
This step only applies if your design already has an AI Background.
Select the edit symbol (pencil) next to the prompt.
Edit the prompt and select Generate images to create the background you want. You can use an Assisted prompt or a Manual prompt.
This step only applies if your design has a background that is not an AI Background.
Either:Search for a background by entering a description in the Search for backgrounds field.
Choose an AI Background from the various categories, such as Suggested and Trending.
Select a recently used prompt to generate new AI Backgrounds using that prompt.
Select Create a background and enter a custom prompt. To learn about custom prompts, see How Assisted and Manual prompts work (Web App).
[Optional] Select Generate 2 more to create two additional variations. Each generation costs AI credits.
Select the AI Background that you want to use.
[Optional] Use the editing settings to make further changes to your design.
[Optional] Select Download to save download your design as an image file. Enter a name for the file, choose the file type and then select Download.
Select Home to save your design and exit the editor.
