You can use AI Backgrounds to replace the background of an existing design. For this, you need to open the design in the editor first, and then use the AI Backgrounds in-editor tool.

Steps (Web App)
To replace the background of a design with an AI Background:
Log in at app.photoroom.com.
Select the Space you want to work in.
Select Designs.
Select the design you want to edit.
Select the background layer.
Select Add an AI background.
If the design already has an AI Background, select Customize instead. Alternatively, you can select Change and then AI Backgrounds.
You can either:
Select one of the suggested AI Backgrounds
Choose an AI Background from the themes
Select Create a background and use the AI Backgrounds settings to tell Photoroom what you want in the background. You can upload an image or create a prompt.
When you have an image you are happy with, select it.
[Optional] Use the editing features to change the image as required. For example, to add text or shapes or to change the color.
When you have finished editing, select:
Download to download your design as an image file.
Home to exit the editor. Photoroom saves your design in the Space automatically.
