Create a video from a photo (Web App)

Learn how to create a video based on a photo that you upload to Photoroom. Web App.

Bring your designs to life with Photoroom's Video generator feature! It uses AI to add movement to your image, making it more eye-catching and appealing. You can even use AI to show products in different environments or include AI models in your video — a great way to show your products in action.

For example, we used a photo of a woman wearing a coat to create this video where the camera remains still and she turns around to show the back of the coat.

Note: The Video generator feature is currently in Beta. It will continue to evolve and improve over time.

On Web App

To create a video from a photo that you upload to Photoroom:

  1. Select the Space you want to work in.

    Note: The Video generator feature is only available in Max and Ultra Spaces.

  2. Select AI Tools.

  3. Select Video generator.

  4. Select Subject and upload an image.​

  5. Choose an animation for the camera movement (cinematography).

    There are several to choose from, including 360, focus, and glide. The menu shows an animated preview of each animation style.

  6. Choose the dimensions for the video:

    • Square

    • Portrait (3:4)

    • Portrait (9:16)

    • Landscape (4:3)

    • Landscape (16:9)

  7. [Optional] Use the prompt field to add a text description of the video. Use it to describe what you want to see, the type of lighting, the background, whether a person is smiling or serious, etc.

  8. Select the arrow button to generate the animation.

    Note: Video generation costs AI credits.

  9. Wait for Photoroom to generate the animation. It can take a few minutes. When it is finished, the video will appear.

  10. Select Download video.
    The browser downloads your video file, usually to your Downloads folder.

    Note: On the Web App, generated videos are not saved in Photoroom. You should download them to keep your own copy.

  11. [Optional] Use the video generator settings to make changes and select the arrow button to generate another video. When the video is generated, select Download video to save a copy on your device.

  12. Select X to exit the video generator.

You can use the video file that was downloaded to your device in other applications. The video is NOT saved in the Space where it was created.
