You can change the size of the images in your batch to suit different requirements. For example, you could resize some of the images to use on social media platforms and some to use on your website.
When you're editing a batch of images, resizing is optional.
Steps (Web App)
To change the size of the images in your batch, use Resize.
Select the images you want to resize.
To learn more, see How to select images using the Batch feature (Web App).
Select Resize.
Choose a size from the presets or set Custom dimensions.
This step only applies if your images have their original background in place (Remove original backgrounds is off in the Background settings).
Choose a type of resizing:
Expand with AI
Keeps the entire product image visible and uses AI to fill any transparent pixels (such as extra canvas space as a result of resizing).
Expand with AI uses AI credits.
Fill image
The image is scaled up equally on all sides until there is no empty space on the new canvas. The edges are cropped to fit the new canvas size.
Fit image
Keeps the entire image visible. Any unused canvas space is transparent.
If the resizing changes how products fit on the canvas, you can reposition them later in the main editor.
Note: If you resize a batch and then apply a template, the template size overrules the resize setting.
Troubleshooting
Unusual results with images that have white borders
Photoroom can produce unusual results if your source images have white borders at the top, bottom, or sides. This is because the AI treats the white borders as part of the image.
To solve the problem, open your image in the main editor and then use the crop tool to remove the white areas. To learn about opening a Batch image in the main editor, see Edit individual images in a Batch (Web App).
