Use Product Fixer to improve image fidelity (Web App)

How to use the standalone Product Fixer tool to fix AI-generated images that you upload to Photoroom.

Use Photoroom's Product Fixer to improve the accuracy and fidelity of AI-generated images. It is a standalone tool, where you upload the images you want to fix, so you can use it with AI-generated images you created outside of Photoroom.

Before and after product images. The before image has "Photoroom" text with a deformed "R". After has the text fixed.

How it works:

You upload at least 2 images:

  • A product photo that shows the product as it really is

  • The image that shows the product with some inaccuracies, such as text that's been misinterpreted by AI.

You then draw over the area you need Photoroom to fix, use a prompt to describe the change, and Photoroom takes care of the rest. It uses information in the original product photo(s) to fix the inaccurate image.

Note: Looking to fix images generated by the Photoroom AI? See Fix AI-generated images with Fix Product (Web App) to learn how to fix them during the editing process.

Availability

  • All paid subscription plans.

  • Does NOT require AI credits.

  • Works with images only.

Steps (Web)

To use Product Fixer to correct inaccuracies in AI-generated images:

  1. Select the Space you want to work in.

  2. Select AI tools.

  3. Select Product Fixer in the All tools section.

  4. Use the Add a product image to fix box to upload the inaccurate image.

  5. Use the Add photos of the product box to upload one or more accurate images of the product, such as real product photos.

  6. Select Fix product.

Photoroom displays the incorrect image, the correct image(s), and the Product Fixer options.

Product Fixer settings show the inaccurate image, the accurate product image, and the Product Fixer brush size settings.

  7. Set the Brush size so that it is suitable to "paint" over the area that needs fixing.

  8. Paint over the area that needs fixing.

Tip: You can zoom in and pan the main image and the source image to view in more detail, see the Zooming and panning section below.

  9. Enter a prompt to describe what needs to be changed.

For example, "Text is inaccurate and unreadable. Make it match the text in the product image."

  10. Select Fix it.

Photoroom redraws the selected area of the image, matching it more closely to the product image(s) you provided.

  11. Select:

    • Use this image to open it in the editor for further changes

    • Download to download it as an image file.

Zooming and panning in Product Fixer

When using the Product Fixer, you can zoom in and out of the images and move them, so that you can see details more easily.

At the bottom of the main image is a switch with two icons: a scribble for Brush mode and directional arrows for Move mode.

Brush and Move icons.

Select the Move icon to activate Move mode. You can then:

  • Zoom

Left-click on an image to zoom in.

There are several zoom levels and if you keep clicking, you will cycle through them and back to the beginning.

  • Pan (move)

To move an image, you must be zoomed in at least one level. Then press and hold the left mouse button and drag to move the image.

To exit the Move mode, select the Brush mode icon.
