Use the Studio Shot tool to turn regular product photos into clean, minimalist, studio-style images. It works by:
Replacing the original background with a minimalist background
Suggesting complementary color schemes
Letting you control the shadows.
How it works:
You upload a source image or choose one that already exists in Photoroom.
You use the Studio Shot settings to guide Photoroom.
Photoroom generates several results, each with a suggested color for the background.
You select your preferred result, which opens in the editor.
You use the editor to make any further changes.
You download the image to use in other applications.

Ways to access Studio Shot
Studio Shot is available as a standalone tool from the AI tools menu. It is not available in the Batch editor or Product catalog editor.
Settings for Studio Shot
The Studio Shot tool has the following settings:
Source image
Shadow
Backdrop
Size
We describe each of these settings in the sections below.
Source image
Studio Shot needs a source image to use as a starting point. Depending on where you accessed the AI tool, you can:
Upload a photo
Select from recent uploads or AI generated images
Choose an image that already exists in Photoroom
Take a photo and upload it (iOS only)
Use an AI tool to generate an image (iOS only).

Shadow
Choose the type of shadow effect that is shown around the main subject in the image:
Soft
A light, diffused shadow.
Hard
A dark, strong shadow.
Floating
A shadow beneath the object, to create a hovering effect.
None
No shadow.
Backdrop
Choose a style of background:
Plain
Simple, single color background.
Cyclo
A cyclorama background to mimic a seamless, curved background.
Lightbox
A lightbox background to mimic a softly-lit background with a rear wall and floor.
Size (aspect ratio)
Choose the Size (aspect ratio) of the image that Photoroom will generate.:
3:4 Portrait
Height is greater than width.
1:1 Square
Height and width are equal.
Suggested colors
Photoroom generates Studio Shot images based on your chosen settings. It shows the results in the Suggested colors section, each with a different suggested color scheme for the background.
Select the color you want to use.
After generating an image
Select your preferred result in the Suggested colors section. Photoroom opens the image as a design in the main editor.
You can use the main editor settings to make further changes, such as add text, change brightness levels, add graphics, and more. To learn about the main editor features, see the Editing your designs articles.
When you have finished editing, Download or Save your design.
