Each product in Shopify has product information, also known as metadata, that helps users and search engines/bots find and understand your product. This includes:
Product title
Product description
Image file name
Image alt text.
In Photoroom, you can edit each of these manually or generate them automatically using AI.
Note: Alt text is a description of the image in case the image can't load. It is also used by assistive technology used by visually-impaired users.
Availability
Photoroom for Shopify must be connected to your Shopify store
Publishing to Shopify requires a Max or Ultra subscription.
Steps (Android)
To edit the product information for a Shopify product:
Select the context menu ( ... ) at the top.
Select Edit product info.
Decide how you want to create the metadata:
All AI-generated
Continue from step 5.
A mix of AI-generated and manual entry
Ignore step 5, continue from step 6.
All manual entry
Ignore step 5, continue from step 6.
Select Generate all metadata.
Photoroom creates the title, description, and image metadata for you automatically. Select the back arrow to exit the image information screen. You can ignore the rest of the steps below.
Enter a new Title.
Alternatively, select the Generate option immediately below the Title field to use an AI-generated title.
Enter a new Description.
Alternatively, select the Generate option immediately below the Description field to use an AI-generated description.
Select an image in the list.
Enter a file name for the image or use Generate for an AI-generated file name.
Enter alt text for the image or use Generate for AI-generated alt text.
Select the back arrow and then repeat steps 8-10 until you have added metadata for all of the images.
Select the back arrow to return to the Shopify Products screen.
