When you export an image from Photoroom, the image quality (resolution) is affected by:

  • Canvas size (design size)
The size of each design is measured in pixels and has an inherent resolution. The larger the design size, the higher the resolution.

  • Photoroom export limit
The export limit is different depending on the version of Photoroom you are using (iPhone, iPad, Android, Web App, API). The limit is also reduced if you are using Batch mode.

Here, we explain the export limits.

On iPhone and iPad

The export limit varies depending on your plan:

Plan

Export Limit

Free

750 × 550 pixels

Photoroom Pro

4032 × 4032 pixels ** when not using Batch Mode

2000 × 2000 pixels when using Batch Mode

Photoroom Max

Same as Pro

*We are working on increasing the resolution limit further.

** Requires image export size to be chosen in Settings (see Optimize for image quality or app performance).

Note: The export resolution applies to your designs, but it does not upscale any low resolution images you may have imported into them. For example, let's say you import a low resolution photo and then choose a template that is 4032px × 4032px. When you export it, you will get a 4032 × 4032 design, but the imported image part of the design will remain low resolution and will look less detailed.

On Android

The export limit varies depending on your plan:

Export Limit

Free

750 × 550 pixels

Photoroom Pro

Resize your design to 4032 × 4032 pixels when not using Batch Mode

2000 × 2000 pixels when using Batch Mode

Photoroom Max

Same as Pro

On Web App
