When you add images to a Batch, Photoroom automatically imports them and removes their backgrounds. In most cases, the results are excellent. However, for more complex images, you may notice imperfections. To correct these, open the individual image and use the Edit Cutout tool.
For example, in the images below, an image in our batch has some unwanted artefacts (1). So we open that image in the editor, select the layer and use Edit cutout to remove the artefacts (2). We get a clean image (3) and can then return to the Batch.
On iPhone and iPad
To remove or restore part of an image in a batch:
Select the Space you want to work in.
Select Batch.
Select Start Batch.
Select the images you want to include in your batch and select the checkbox or Add images to confirm.
Photoroom adds the images to your batch and removes their backgrounds.
Select the image that you want to change.
Select the layer that has parts you want to remove or restore.
Select Edit cutout.
Look at the Cutout Suggestions. These are alternative edits and one of them might be perfect for your needs. If so, select the cutout suggestion and then skip ahead and continue from step 13.
If the cutout suggestions are unsuitable, you can edit the image yourself. Select either:
Erase to remove parts of the image
Restore to restore parts of the image.
Select either:
Assisted to use assisted mode, where you can tap on an area of the image and Photoroom will automatically select the pixels that will be removed/restored.
Manual to remove and restore only the parts of the image you select manually. This is often better when you need to edit with precision.
If you selected Manual mode, use the Brush width slider to set the size of the brush tip.
Draw over the area you want to remove/restore. If you are using Assisted mode, you can tap on the area rather than drawing over it.
Tips for drawing with Edit Cutout:Use gestures to zoom in, zoom out, and pan the image
Zoomed in views let you remove and add parts of the image with more precision
Change the brush size for more precision at different zoom levels
Use the Undo arrow at the top to cancel the previous action
If you remove too much of the image, switch to Restore and draw it back in
Select Done when you have finished removing/restoring the image.
Note: If the layer is now in an unsuitable position, select it and drag it to a better position. You can also use Crop to reduce the size of the object on the layer.
Either:
Select X to exit the editor.
Select Next to move on to the next image in the batch and then select Done on the last image in the batch.
Do NOT select Apply to all. Wait until the Apply to all dialog closes automatically.
[Optional] Use the other options to edit the images, for example, to add a background.
Select Export images to download the images. You can also use the options to share the images.
Note: Images in Batch are not saved as designs in your workspace. To save them as designs, you can import them back into Photoroom individually, see Save Batch images to a Space.
