Learn how the teams billing process works if you have a mobile subscription

The billing process varies depending on whether the Team Admin has a free personal account or a Pro personal account. The Team Admin is the person who creates and manages a team.

Here, we explain the different billing processes and answer common teams billing questions.


Team Admin uses a free account

If you (Team Admin) have a free personal account, it means you can only create basic teams.

Basic teams are free teams. There is no charge for the team and team members are either on a free account or a Pro account, depending on their personal subscription.

Team Admin uses a Pro account

If you (Team Admin) have a Pro personal account, the first team you create is a Pro team. All members of the team have to have Pro access and this is provided through their membership of the team.

As part of your Pro subscription, we include three Pro "seats" on the team:

  • Team Admin

  • Teammate 1

  • Teammate 2

If you add extra teammates, you will be billed for their Pro seats.

The billing is centralised and it works like this:

We recommend that users with a personal Pro plan should cancel their plan. They do not need it as they have Pro through their membership of a Pro team.

We recommend that users with a personal Pro plan should cancel their plan. They do not need it as they have Pro through their membership of a Pro team.

If you subscribed from the mobile version of Photoroom, you cannot have more than 3 members in a Pro team (Team Admin + 2 others). If you want more members, you will need to switch to a web subscription. You will then be able to add more users to your team, either from the web app or from your mobile device. You will be billed for any additional members.

If you go on to create more teams, each of those teams is a free, basic team. With a basic team, the individual team members pay for their personal subscriptions (see Team Admin uses a free account, above).

Note: You can upgrade a basic team to a Pro team, but only if your subscription is from the web app. You can switch from a mobile subscription to a web subscription if needed, see Switch from a mobile subscription to a web subscription.


Monthly or yearly billing for team members

If you are the Team Admin of a Pro team, you can choose monthly or yearly billing for each team member. This is only possible on the Web App.


When is the Team Admin charged for each member?

Photoroom charge the Team Admin at the beginning of the membership. This will be either for the whole year or for the whole month, depending on which payment plan you choose.

If any team members join after the start date, we charge the Team Admin on a prorated basis. We make the charge the day after you add the member to the team.

Example:

  • Team Admin becomes Pro on the 1st of January.

  • Team Admin is charged for the whole year.

  • Team Admin adds 3 team members on the 1st of March. The first and second team members are free.

  • Team Admin is charged for one additional seat on a prorated base. In this case, we charge 10 months on the 2nd of March.

Every active membership is automatically renewed and billed to the Team Admin account for the upcoming month or year.
