Breathe new life into low-resolution photos with Photoroom's Upscale tool. Using AI, it increases the resolution of your images, making them sharper, more detailed, and better suited for scaling to larger sizes.

Before and after AI upscale comparison. Before is a blurred, pixelated photo of a woman. After is a much sharper photo of the woman.

You can also set the AI to redesign your image, where it enhances the original image and adds creative details for a better design!

Availability:

Upscale is available on iOS using Photoroom version 606 or later. Currently, it is not available in the Android or Web App versions of Photoroom.

On iPhone and iPad

To upscale a photo on the iPhone or iPad version of Photoroom:

  1. Select Content.

  2. Select the workspace you want to work in.

  3. Select AI tools.

  4. Select Upscale. It is in the Editing tools category.

  5. Upload the photo you want to upscale.

  6. Choose the upscaling and redesign mode you want:

    • Enhance
The AI will upscale and sharpen your image, but will not add creative details to it.

    • Transform
The AI will do a "soft" redesign, where it upscales your image and adds creative details, while keeping the photo's main features.

    • Reimagine
The AI will create a new high resolution design that is inspired by your photo.

  7. Select Upscale.

  8. Use the Before and After slider to compare the old version to the new version.

  9. Select Done to open the design in the editor.

  10. [Optional] Use the editing settings to make further changes to your design. For more details, see Introduction to editing in Photoroom.

  11. Select Export. Use the export settings to save and share your design. For more details, see Export a design.
