You can open any of your custom templates in the editor to make changes whenever you need. Whether you want to update text, adjust colors, or generate new AI images, the editor lets you do it all.

Side-by-side images. Image 1 shows templates in the templates folder. The Edit the original template option is selected. Image 2 shows changes being made to a template in the editor.

Note: You can only make changes to custom templates (templates that have been created by you or your teammates). You can't make changes to the templates supplied by Photoroom. However, you could apply a Photoroom template to a design and then turn that design into a custom template.

On iPhone and iPad

To edit a template:

(Video shows Photoroom on iPhone)

  1. Select the Space that contains the template you want to edit.

  2. Select Content.

  3. Select your templates folder.

  4. Select the template you want to edit.

  5. Select Edit the original template.

  6. Use the editor features to make changes to your template.

The editor features work in the same way as they do for editing a design. There are settings for each layer, and you can add text, images, and other content. You can also change the backgrounds, shadows, and resize the template too.

Note: To change the layer of the template that is replaced by the main subject of a photo, select the layer and then turn on Replaceable Subject. When you apply the template to an image (or batch of images), Photoroom will insert the main object in the image in place of any Replaceable Subject layers.

  7. Select X to save the template and close the editor.
