You can upgrade to Ultra at any time. Ultra is a premium plan with:

  • Several tiers, each offering different limits:

    • Ultra

    • Ultra ×2

    • Ultra ×5

    • Ultra ×10

  • Higher AI credits

  • Higher Batch export limits. There are different volumes of export limits available on Ultra, so you can choose the amount that best suits your business.

When you upgrade to Ultra, the pro-rated value of your remaining subscription will be discounted from your Ultra subscription automatically.

The steps for upgrading to Ultra vary depending on whether:

  • You are upgrading on iOS, Android, or the Web App

  • You are in the USA or another country

  • You want a low tier Ultra plan or a higher tier Ultra plan.

In this article, we cover each scenario.

Web upgrade to Ultra (Stripe)

To upgrade a Space to Ultra using the Web App:

  1. Select the Upgrade option in the sidebar.

  2. Select Ultra plan.

  3. On the Upgrade to Ultra dialog:

Upgrade to Ultra dialog. It has options for choosing the volume and a yearly or monthly billing period.

    1. Choose the volume of Batch/API exports you want.

    2. Select the billing period, Monthly or Yearly.

    3. Select Continue. Photoroom opens Stripe, which is the payment service we use for web subscriptions.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to provide your payment details and complete your payment.

Note: The pro-rated value of your remaining subscription will be discounted from your Ultra subscription automatically.

  5. If you previously had an App Store or Play Store subscription, cancel it (see Cancel your subscription). You only need your web (Stripe) subscription.

If you don’t cancel your store subscription, you’ll be charged twice—once for Stripe and once for the store subscription plan.

Mobile upgrade: USA

If you're in the USA and want to upgrade a Space to Ultra on iOS or Android:

Note: You need to be an Admin to upgrade a Space to Ultra.

  2. Select the Space you want to upgrade.

  3. Select the badge for your current subscription, for example, Max.

  4. Select Unlock more.

  5. Choose an Ultra plan and the pricing schedule you want and then select Continue.

  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to make your payment through the Stripe service.

Important: If you paid for your previous subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store , cancel that subscription.

Mobile upgrade: Rest of world

The information below applies only if you are outside the USA and want to upgrade to Ultra on an iOS or Android device.

  1. Log in to Photoroom on your iOS or Android device.

Note: You need to be an Admin to upgrade a Space to Ultra.

  2. Select the Space you want to upgrade.

  3. Select the badge for your current subscription, for example, Max.

  4. Select Unlock more.

    Photoroom will either:

    • Display options for upgrading your plan (continue from step 5).

    • Display an Upgrade your Space message (continue from step 6).

  5. Complete the upgrade. This step only applies if you see options for upgrading your plan.

    1. Choose the Ultra plan and the pricing schedule you want and then select Continue.

    2. Follow the on-screen instructions to make your payment in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

    3. If you paid for your previous subscription through Stripe, cancel it (see Cancel your subscription). You only need your store subscription.

If you don’t cancel your Stripe subscription, you’ll be charged twice—once for your Stripe subscription and once for your store subscription.

  6. Switch your subscription to Stripe. This step only applies if you see the Upgrade your Space message.

    1. Select Send email.

    2. Follow the instructions in the email to upgrade your plan. As part of the upgrade, you will switch your subscription to Stripe.

The email should arrive quickly, but can be delayed if email services are slow or down. If you do not receive the email, contact support.

    3. If you previously had an App Store or Play Store subscription, cancel it (see Cancel your subscription). You only need your Stripe subscription.

If you don’t cancel your store subscription, you’ll be charged twice—once for your Stripe subscription and once for your store subscription.

Note: The pro-rated value of your remaining subscription will be discounted from your Ultra subscription automatically.

Switching from one payment type to another

You can switch from one payment type to another. For example, if you subscribed on the Web App and paid via Stripe, you can switch to an Apple Store subscription if you prefer.

To switch, you must upgrade your subscription using your preferred service. You can then cancel your previous subscription.
