To use Product Staging to show a product in a realistic scene:

(Video is edited to show reduced AI generation time).

As there are many features you can use with Product Staging, we have split the instructions into stages.

Stage 1: Upload a product photo and generate a Product Staging image

  1. Select the Space you want to work in.

  2. Select AI Tools.

  3. Select Product Staging.

If you don't see Product Staging, select the See more button to reveal the full list. You can select Product Staging from there.

  4. Select Add your photo and upload a product photo.

  5. Use Size to set the size of the design that Photoroom will generate.

  6. Select the Brand kit icon and choose whether you want the Brand style description to influence the AI.

    Either:

    1. Turn Apply brand style off.

    2. Turn Apply brand style on.
Photoroom will use the brand style description to influence the prompt for your Product Staging images. You can change the brand style description from here, but be aware that any changes you make will change the description in the brand kit for the Space too. This could affect other people who are using the brand kit.

  7. Select X to exit the brand kit settings.

  8. Select the arrow button to generate 2 images.

  9. Either:

    • Use of the generated images. (You will get an opportunity to make further changes).

    • Select the arrow button generate more.

Stage 2: Make changes [optional]

If a generated image is similar to what you want, but needs some alterations, you can get the AI to make changes.

  1. Select the context menu for the image you want to use.

  2. To make a change to the image:

    1. Select Edit with AI.

    2. Describe the changes you want in the prompt field.

    3. Select the arrow button to generate a new image.

For example, you could use the prompt to create a zoomed-in view of your product by entering something like: "Close-up of <your product>".

  3. To get images taken from different perspectives, select More angles.

  4. To create a video from one of the generated images, select Generate video. This works in the same way as the Video generator feature.

  5. To remove a generated image, select Delete.

  6. To download an image as an image file that you can use in other applications, select Save.

Stage 3: Final edits and save

When you have a Product Staging image that you are happy with, select it and follow the steps below:

  1. [Optional] Use the prompt field to describe further changes and then select the arrow button to generate.

  2. [Optional] Select Open in editor to open the design in the main editor.

If you select Open in editor, Photoroom starts to remove the background. If it completes the removal, you will get a design with the main object on one layer and a transparent background. If you select Skip background removal, you will get a design that has the entire image on a single layer.

You can then use the main editor to add text, color, lighting effects, etc. To learn about the editing features, see the articles in Features and Tools.

  3. Select Save or Export to download the design as an image file.

  4. Select Close design to save your design and exit.
