Note: This article covers Batch image backgrounds on Android. If you're using an Apple device, see Create a background for a batch of images (iOS). For the Web App, see Create a background for a batch of images (Web App).
On Android
In this article, we're going to show you how to:
Give all images in a batch the same color background
Give all images in a batch an AI background based on the same prompt
Give all images in a batch the same background image.
Once the background is in place on one image, you'll use Apply to all to add it to the other images.
Note: Another way to apply a background to a batch of images is to use a template. You add the background you want to the template and then apply the template to the batch. To learn more, see Create a custom template and Apply a template to a batch of images (Android).
Select the Space you want to work in.
Select Batch.
Select Start Batch and then choose the images you want to include in your batch. Select Add images to confirm your choices.
[Optional] Use Template, Resize, and Position to apply a template to your image, change the image size, and change its alignment.
You can learn about these settings in Edit multiple photos at once in Batch (iOS and Android).
Select an image in your batch to open it in the main editor.
Select Backgrounds.
From here, you can choose to use a Color, AI Background, or Image as the background (see the next steps).
[Optional] To set the background to a single color:
[Optional] To apply an AI background:
Select AI Backgrounds (or Change background and then AI Backgrounds).
Either:
Select one of the auto-generated AI backgrounds
Enter a description of the image you want in the prompt field and then select the arrow button.
Select + Background and choose from the different types of background.
Continue from step 11.
[Optional] To use an image as the background:
Select Image.
Select the image file you want to use as the background. If the image you want isn't already in Photoroom, you can upload it.
Continue from step 11.
Select the back arrow to exit the editor.
Select Apply to all before the timer runs down.
When you select Apply to all, Photoroom adds your selected background to all of the images in the batch. If you used an AI background, Photoroom creates similar backgrounds for the other images in the batch. Your AI backgrounds will have a similar theme but are unlikely to be identical.
Select Export images and use the options to choose where Photoroom saves the images. You can also share the images.
Your image files are saved or shared to the location you chose. You can now use them in other applications.
Note: Images produced in Batch are not saved as designs in Photoroom. They are only exported as image files. To save them as designs, you can export them and then import them individually and save (see Save Batch images to a Space).
TIP: If you want your images to have an identical background, create a design that has the the background you want and then export it. On the home screen, select Start from Photo and import the image with the background and choose to skip background removal. Use Retouch to remove the foreground objects and export the background image. Then, in Batch, use the background image as a background.
