Use Ironing to remove wrinkles from clothing photos (Web App)

Learn how to use the Ironing feature to turn a photo of creased clothing into a smoother, more professional image suitable for product listings. Web App.

Ironing clothes for product photos is a boring chore, right? Good news: with Photoroom, you can skip it altogether. Just upload photos of wrinkled garments and let the Ironing feature do the work. It creates clean, professional images that look realistic—without distracting creases.

Before and after. Before shows a creased and wrinkled sweatshirt. After shows the sweatshirt with very few creases as if it has been ironed.

Steps (Web App)

To use Ironing on the Web App version of Photoroom:

  1. Log in at app.photoroom.com.

  2. Select the Space you want to work in.

  3. Select AI Tools.

  4. Select Ironing.
    ​
    If you don't see the Ironing option, select the See all button for a full list of tools.
    ​

  5. Use the Drop a file or select an image box to upload a photo.

  6. Select Generate to create an "ironed" image.
    ​
    Each generation uses AI credits.
    ​

  7. [Optional] Position the cursor over a generated image to display its context menu ( ... ) and use the options to make changes:
    ​

    • Other angles
      Use to generate images showing the clothing from a different angle.
      ​

    • Generate video
      Use to create a short video based on the image. Photoroom takes you to the Video Generator tool options, which work in the same way as the standalone Video Generator tool.

  8. Select an image that you want to use.

  9. [Optional] Use the options to make changes:
    ​

    • Remove background
      Use to keep or remove the background.
      ​
      ​Tip: Remove the background if you plan to edit or replace the background, or make changes to the subject in the main editor. This separates the background and subject into different layers, making them easier to edit.
      ​

    • Retouch
      Use to remove parts of the image by blending with the background. Only available when the background is included in the image.

    • Edit cutout
      Use to remove or restore parts of a layer. Only available when the background has been removed.
      ​

    • Resize
      Use to change the size and orientation of the image.​
      ​

  10. [Optional] Select Download to download the Ironing image as an image file.

  11. [Optional] Select Use this image to open your design in the editor.
    ​
    Use the editing features to make additional changes, such as add text, shapes, and other design elements. To learn how to use the editing features, see Features and tools.
    ​

  12. [Optional] Select Download to download the finished design as an image file. Enter a name for the image file and choose a file format and then select Download.

  13. Select Home to save your design and exit the editor.

You can now use your downloaded file in other applications. Your design is also available in the Space's Designs in Photoroom.
