When you edit images in the Product editor, you choose which images your changes apply to. Select the images first, then use the editing tools. For example, you could add text to flat lay images but not to images that show an AI Fashion Model.
In this article, you'll learn how to select individual images, groups of images, and also image layers. There's also a useful tip for displaying an image tile's pill menu when a foreground layer fills the image canvas.
Before you start
Be aware that:
You can apply edits to multiple images for an individual product at the same time.
You cannot apply edits across multiple products at the same time.
If no images are selected, changes apply to all product images. No images selected is the same as all images selected.
You should also make sure that:
Select an individual image
To select an individual image, click it in the grid. A purple-blue box appears around the edge of the selected image and the pill menu appears above it.
Tip: If a foreground layer fills the image, clicking the image may select the layer instead. So you will see the layer's pill menu instead of the image tile's pill menu. You then see the layer’s pill menu. To get the image tile's pill menu, draw a selection box over the whole image.
Select a group of images
To select a group of images in the grid:
Press and hold the Ctrl key (Windows) or the Cmd key (macOS).
Click each image you want to include. Purple-blue boxes appear around selected images.
Release the Ctrl key or Cmd key when you finish selecting.
To select multiple images that appear next to each other in the grid:
Position the cursor next to the first image you want to select (not on the image).
Press and hold the left mouse button and drag over the images you want to select. Purple-blue boxes appear around the selected images.
Release the mouse button to finish your selection.
Note: You can also hold Shift and click images that appear next to each other in the grid.
Select all images
To select all images:
Select an image in the grid.
Select More actions ( ... ) on the image tile's pill menu.
Select Select all.
Deselect all images
To deselect all images, click the gray background of the canvas.
Select a layer
Click on any foreground layer to select it. When you select a foreground layer, its pill menu is shown and a purple-blue box appears around the layer. The pill menu has options that are relevant to editing that type of layer.
Important: The pill menu for a layer is different from the pill menu that's available for the image as a whole (the image tile pill menu). For example, the image tile pill menu contains options for inserting graphics and text on an image. The insert options are not available on the pill menu for a foreground layer.
