This article describes the workflow for editing Product Catalog images. We'll cover the steps involved, from applying a template to publishing your updates to your Shopify store. Many of these steps are optional.
To edit Product Catalog images, you need to:
Make sure Photoroom is connected to your Shopify store.
Decide which editing features you want to use.
Select the product images you want the changes to affect.
The following editing steps are optional:
Use Templates to apply a template for quick, consistent styling.
Use Resize to change the size of your product images.
Use Position to change the image alignment and padding.
Apply AI Shadows to create a sense of depth and realism.
Add images to your product listings by uploading photos, selecting assets or designs, or generating images with AI.
Use the main Photoroom editor to edit individual images.
The main editor includes features not available in the Product Catalog Editor. These include options for adding text, graphics, and changing layer settings like brightness and blur effects.
When you have finished:
Add SEO filenames and alt text to your images. This is best practice.
Publish the product image updates to Shopify.
Publishing keeps Photoroom and Shopify in sync and updates your product images in your store.
Important: Edits only appear in your Shopify store after you publish them.
