Use Save as a template to turn any product image into a template that you can later use on other images. This reduces editing time because you create the design once and reuse it on other images.
Note: This article describes saving a product image as a template using the Product catalog and Product editor. We assume that you have already connected Photoroom to your store and have listings in your Product catalog.
Steps (Web App)
To save a product listing image as a template, follow the instructions below. In the video, we show layers being added to a product image, the image being saved as a template, and the template being opened to inspect the replaceable layer.
Edit a product image and create the design you want to save as a template. You can add layers, change existing layers, and delete layers.
To learn about adding and editing layers, see the product image editing articles.
Select the image tile to display its pill menu.
Tip: If the image covers the tile, you may accidentally select an image layer instead. To select the tile, draw a selection box starting in the gray area outside the tile and include the entire tile in the box.
Select the More actions ( ... ) option and then Save as a template.
Give the template a name and select Save template.
The template that you created is saved in the Space's Templates. You can use it as a template for regular designs, batches, and product listing images.
To check which layers will be replaced when you apply your template:
Select Home.
Select Templates.
Hover over the template you created and select Edit template.
Select a layer and check its Replaceable subject option:
If it is on, that layer is replaced by the main subject of the image when the template is applied
If it is off, that layer is copied to other images when the template is applied.
Select Home to exit the template editor.
