How to use Ironing

How to use Photoroom's Ironing AI tool to remove wrinkles and creases from clothing images, while keeping a realistic look.

Photoroom's Ironing tool removes wrinkles from your clothing photos to create smoother, more professional product images. It delivers the kind of clean, aspirational imagery that sells, with no manual steaming or editing required.

How it works:

  1. You provide a least one source image.

  2. Photoroom generates a smoothed image based on the source image.

  3. You can then use the generated image as is or you can open it in the main editor to make further changes. You can also generate variations, if needed.

Ways to access Ironing

Ironing is available as a standalone tool, and from AI tools in Batch and Photoroom for Shopify. For the step-by-step guides, see Workflows in Related content (below).

Settings for Ironing

Ironing has no settings of its own. It needs only a source image, and then generates the smoothed result.

Source image

Ironing needs a source image to use as a starting point. Depending on where you accessed the AI tool, you can:

  • Upload a photo of clothing

  • Select from recent uploads or AI generated images

  • Choose a clothing image that already exists in Photoroom

  • Take a photo and upload it (mobile only)

  • Use an AI tool to generate a clothing image (mobile only)

  • Select an image in a Batch

  • Select a product image in the Product editor (integration, such as Photoroom for Shopify).

Context menu settings

Each generated image has a context menu that contains options for working further with the image. For example, there are options for creating variations and generating a video (depending on the Space subscription).

The context menu settings are common to all AI tools. You can learn about them in Context menu options for AI tools.

Review and edit settings

When you are ready to use an AI image, select it to display the review and edit settings. From here, you can download the image to use, make final changes, or open it in the main editor to make manual changes such as add text or graphics.
