Use AI Scenes to show a product in an AI-generated scene. By using a prompt, you can instruct the AI to change the background and enhance the foreground to create a more realistic image.

Before and After. Before is a photo of a boot against a white background. After is an image showing the boot in woodland, stepping down into a stream and making a realistic splash.

This article covers step-by-step instructions for using the standalone AI Scenes tool on iOS. For information on how the tool works, how it differs to other background tools, and what each of it's settings do, see How to use AI Scenes.

(Video is edited to show faster AI-generation time.)

Stage 1: Add your product photo

  1. Open Photoroom and select the Space you want to work in.

  2. Select AI tools.

  3. Select AI Scenes.

If you can't see the AI Scenes option, select See more for a full list of AI tools.

  4. Choose the image that you will use with AI Scenes.

For information on using the settings on the Choose an image screen, see How to add or choose a source image (iOS).

Stage 2: Choose your settings and generate

  1. Use the prompt field to enter a description of the image you want Photoroom to create.

For details, see How to use AI Scenes.

  2. Select the arrow button or Generate to generate your images. Each generation uses AI credits.

  3. [Optional] To try alternatives, change the source image or prompt and generate again.

To create more variations from a generated image, select its context menu and use the Variation or Edit with AI options.

The context menu options are shared across AI tools and you can learn about them in Context menu options for AI tools.

Stage 3: Review, edit, and save

  1. Select a generated image to open the review and edit screen.

  2. Review the result, make any final changes, or open it in the main editor for manual edits such as adding text, graphics, or a background.

For information on everything you can do here, see Review and edit an AI image.

  3. When you are happy with the image, save it.

You can now use your saved file in other applications. Your design is available in the Space's Content in Photoroom.
